How to Host an Entirely Environmentally Friendly Party

By Dominic 12th January 10

YES!

Finally after all of this time, we are going to tell you exactly how to party in such a manner that will make sure your children, and your children’s children, and your children’s children’s children can party as well.

Luckily vibes are free, but other than that you’re going to have to provide some things to maintain a great environment; this blog will make sure you can not only keep the environment going in your house, but also keep the one outside clean. heyyyyyyyy

Priorities may differ for party goers but ultimately there are some golden rules to abide by. Here they are but put with an innovative environmentally friendly twist! zoop!

1) To supply a steady supply of music throughout the night with a speaker system that if needed can be turned up very loud. With current technology your biggest bangers needn’t melt the world’s ice with their bassy power, instead why not invest in some greener speakers from here:

or if you’re thinking less big time and you’re having more of a ‘drinks do’ then why not put some Oscar Peterson on these handy chaps:

SOUND SYSTEM: DONE. and if you want to really be responsible then you can soundproof the room by sticking recycled egg boxes on your wall.

For music? Check out this place:

Great mixes by up and coming DJs, musicians and producers; all shared within a community for music lovers who want to listen to something brand new.

2) It is hugely important to supply some form of beverage which is of a particularly high quality (and if appropriate some kind of alcohol content), along with some form of vessel to keep this beverage in. How to drink exceptionally good drinks in an environmentally responsible manner may seem difficult, however all it requires is some D.I.Y ethics and half the battle is won.

if you are a sensible, mature and financially destitute over 18 year old then this will appeal to you!

If not then perhaps try your hand at making your own tasty cordials here:

But how to contain this liquid without using cheap party cups made of polystyrene or plastic?

shazam!

3) Balloons. Whether you’re 4 or 67 you can’t really get away with having a balloonless party.

4) To be honest party poppers are kind of annoying, so no great loss there.

5) Instead of having a huge lightshow so that your party looks like a smaller out of place school disco, why not put lamps behind white sheets on the wall? glowing walls are much better than flashing green blue red yellow orange lights on a spinning wheel.

alternatively if your party is a soiree, then ditch the lights, light candles instead.

6) I am personally not going to support an environmental dress theme because it would be rubbish (HA). Instead why not spread a non-consumerist and edgey vibe and make it a charity shop party? Charity shops are FILLED with gems and I genuinely could not praise them more highly.

Best ones to go to always in smaller areas filled with older people, as bleak as that may sound its true. The older, richer and smaller area you go to, the better.

7) Avoid music which demands too much of the speakers i.e Gabba, happy hardcore, death metal and any ministry of sound compilations. Not only because they are bad for the environment, but because not playing these things will earn you respect and street cred with your peers.

This won’t earn you kudos, but you should listen to it anyway.

I think thats about all.

If you get caught having a really really good party and manage to break anything just bear this in mind and you’ll be fine:
